Title: Spring Retreat - Cancelled
The Spring Retreat has been cancelled due to lack of registrations.
Date: 8/5/2008
Title: Craft And Quilt Show Followup
At the Craft and Quilt show, several of our models were sold out and we were asked by a number of people if certain charts were still available. So it is with great excitement that I can announce that there is still a large range of the Listen Honey designs and the Tall Guys designs, both series by Twisted Threads still available, including Petal Pushers. Let me know if you would like me to place an order for these, otherwise I will order them in time for the Retreat.
Date: 6/16/2008
Title: Retreat
Basic Retreat information is now up.
Date: 5/8/2008
Title: Stitchers Jewelry
This gorgeous jewelry would make a fantastic gift to a stitcher. Or even a gift to yourself. Imagine not losing your clover cutter or your scissors so easily. This jewelry gives the mundane cutter or scissors a more stylish look.
Date: 4/16/2008
Title: Online Tradeshow
The online tradeshow opens tonight. Feel free to browse the 130+ designers listed and email me with any items that find their way onto your wishlist. The website address is http://needleshow.com. I look forward to receiving your suggestions between now and Sunday evening.
Date: 4/16/2008
Title: Credit Cards
Following the Melbourne Stitches and Craft, I have decided to retain the old fashioned manual credit card processing unit that I hired for the event and have enabled the secure credit card section of the site. So I can now directly process Visa and Mastercards.
Date: 3/27/2008
Title: Easter Break
Just to let you all know that I have been away for the Easter Break. We are now back, and the website should be updated by the end of the weekend.
Date: 2/24/2008
Title: Stitches and Craft
We will be at the Melbourne Stitches and Craft from 12 - 16 March, 2008. I look forward to seeing you there.

Title: Christmas Post.
Just to let you know, I will be making a special trip to the post office tomorrow morning at about 11am for any last minute orders. While there I will pick up a couple of Express post bags, so that I can have them in the yellow box by Sunday night. If you want your orders by Monday, you will need to use express post - but I generally do not have these sitting around. Regular post is also available, and these will reach you by the end of the week.
Date: 12/20/2007
Title: Postage
Ok, I think that I have fixed the postage options. I have used the amount spent to determine the postage. Where I have misjudged in my favour, you will have the option of receiving a refund or a gift voucher to the amount that the postage is incorrect. (ie. actual postage is less than calculated postage) This should only be an issue for International customers.
Date: 12/20/2007
Title: Express Post
I have just added the express post option to the site. But I am now concerned that I have messed up the other shipping options. I will check those out in a moment.
Date: 12/18/2007
Title: New products
After entering loads of products that I have long had in stock, today I finally went and entered some brand new items. Although these are not the only items new to the store since the site went down, they have only arrived this month.
There are new charts from Just Nan, Reflet de Soie and Sampler Cove.
Date: 12/11/2007
Title: Pictures
I have just uploaded the pictures for most of the charts that were missing their pictures. I am having trouble with the colours for Angel Hare Garden - the scan comes out very yellow, so I will be trying to get the scan using our other scanner. I have also noticed that I have never scanned the M'Lady's Needle charts. So this still needs to be done. Next on the list of products to upload will be either the Kreinik metallics or the new charts that have come in. I really want to get the rest of the older stock in, but some of the new charts are Christmas charts. I also still need to upload the in stock buttons, charms and treasures.
Date: 12/11/2007
Title: Needles
Needles are now entered.
Date: 12/7/2007
Title: Charts & Kits
I thought that I only had about 10 or so charts with missing pictures. These pictures are no longer missing. However, in making sure that the pictures were all uploaded and in their proper place, I have located another 20 missing pictures. So I will be working on those over the next few days. Then it will be back to the threads.
Date: 12/5/2007
Title: Caron Threads, Thread Gatherer
I have just finished entering all the Caron Threads and Thread Gatherer threads that we have in stock. This includes a range of Waterlilies, Watercolors, Wildflowers and Silk n Colors.
Date: 11/27/2007
Title: Sampler Threads
All of our instock threads are now on the site. Onto the next lot of threads.
Date: 11/22/2007
Title: Weeks Dye Works
Our entire range of Weeks Dye Works have now been entered. We will continue working on the rest of our threads over the next few days.
Date: 11/19/2007
Title: Linens
The linens are getting entered at the moment. As you can read on my other blog, I had a slight hiccup when I started entering the linens. I have now fixed it - that is uploaded the pictures. Now onto the the Zweigart Linens. Once these are done, I will continue with the threads.
Date: 11/13/2007
Title: FAQs
FAQs concerning the Shipping, Returns and Privacy policies of The Needlework Boutique are now up.
Date: 11/2/2007
Title: Fabrics
Hand dyed linens are now all entered. I will work on the Belfast and Cashel linens tomorrow, as well as the information pages.
Date: 11/1/2007
Title: Kits & charts & other information
I have completed entering all the pictures from the 'old' stock. Items that are new still need to be scanned, but the next job is to enter in the fabric. I will be getting onto that today.
I have also noticed some interest in some of the informational pages, so will be working on those as well in the next 48 - 72 hours.
As a quick informal piece of information, after placing an order with The Needlework Boutique, all in-stock orders are processed and sent within 48hours of receipt. The post office is visited every morning and when necessary a second run may be done at around 3pm. We are happy to send orders anywhere in the world, but insist that in countries where the postal service is irregular you provide us with an alternative reliable method of getting your order to you at your expense. Orders sent outside of Australia are GST free. Postage is always added to these orders. Orders within Australia include GST, with postage on orders over AUD30 being $0.
Privacy Policy - any information that we may be given by you is considered to be confidential - a full privacy policy will be included in the website in the next few days.

Title: moving
No, I am not moving again! But I thought that it would be an idea to explain why you came to the .com.au site if you typed in .com. I own, and have owned the .com version of my domain for more than 5 years now. I know that I am used to typing in .com and then stopping, so I am sure that others do the same. The easiest way for me to redo the site was to set up the .com.au domain and redirect from the .com domain. I have been put in the position of doing this before I was ready, but it is now done. So except for the email (if you have sent an email to the old email address in the last few days, it is somewhere out in cyberspace right about now - the server I used to be on is down.) I can now focus on this site. More uploading to do today.
Date: 10/28/2007
Title: Done!
Well, almost. Just did a check on the New Products page. After following my list, I still have another 57 pictures to upload, 22 are products where I have done the scans, I just need to play with them, before using them on the site. I will be starting on the fabrics today.
Date: 10/27/2007
Title: where are all the pics?
Good question. They are coming. I have 2 columns on each page, and I have completed the upload of A (Abbey Lane Designs) to M (Mosey n Me), approximately half of the weeks dye works and then most of the P(Passione Ricamo) to T (Trail Creek Farm). Now I am working on completing The Trilogy and most of Twisted Threads before going back to The Marking Sampler and The Needle's Content. This is all taking much longer than I anticipated. Especially as I do need to scan some products still, especially the threads, and resize various pictures.
In the past I have not worried about having scans of the various threads on the site, as these can change with the dye lot, but as more people are requesting to 'see' the colours, there appears to be a definite need for me to do these scans. One thing to remember when you see the scan of a particular thread or fabric, the colour may not be true. I know that now that I am using my Lexmark, the colours of both the threads/fabrics and the charts are slightly different from when I used the other scanner.
Back to work.
Date: 10/27/2007
Title: They are Coming
I have another 71 pics to upload. As of now I have done The Needle's Content. Oops, I just realised, there are a number of pics where I have to find the original scans on my computer. After I get all the products on line and the other content up, I will work out how to remove some of the not so new products from the new page and only have up there items that really are new to the site.
Date: 10/22/2007
Title: why are there so few pictures?
I am a bit slower than Kylie when it comes to entering the pictures. Kylie has now entered all of the charts and kits that we carry. Over time, I will be adding information to these.
I have just now completed the Just Nan charts. Be aware that Just Nan prices include the embellishment packs. You will see gaps as I come across charts that I have previously not scanned for one reason or another. Once I have entered all the pictures for the charts and then all the other products, I will come back and fix these up. Next on my list is the wonderful whitework by Linda Driskell.
Date: 10/18/2007
Title: more entries
Over the last few days I have scanned all of the 100 odd Weeks Dye Works that I have in stock and started entering these and Kylie has entered up to around about Not Forgotten Farm Studio. I still have the pictures to enter for these charts and will get onto that over the next few days, after I finish entering the WDW.
Date: 10/15/2007
Title: Needle Necessities
I have just finished entering the Needle Necessities threads. I have about 28 different colours in stock. The pictures are a bit large at the moment, so I will be playing with that later today.
Date: 10/13/2007
Title: Product Update
Well, I have now caught up with my VA. There are still a few pictures to be uploaded, but these are for products that are brand new to the store. I will still need to scan them. As tomorrow is Sunday, I am planning to spend the day with my family, so will leave the scanning now until Monday at the earliest.
Date: 10/11/2007
Title: Payment and Shipping
I have just set up the payment options and the shipping. Shipping is a flat rate of $3.00 until you have spent $30 or more, then it is free.
Kylie at Tilda Virtual has entered in the basic details of over 100 products in the last 24 hours, and I am trying to catch up with the pictures - they are on my computer and it is easier this way.

Title: Patience Please
After a long struggle with 2 different web designers over a one of a kind web site, I opted to purchase an off the shelf template from ReallEz. Now that the new look is up, I am transferring the products from the .com site over to this new .com.au site. In order to make the transition as quick and painless as possible, I have employed Tilda Virtual Services to help me put in all the data. Tonight I will be looking at the different administration parts of the site, such as payment options and so forth, but I invite you to have a look at what is available and feel free to place orders via email. Anything on the .com site is also available for purchase.
My main blog is B'ette's Needlework Musings. I will be using this one purely to keep you updated on what is happening at the shop.
